In this debut collection, Joanna Green explores the conundrum of living life fully in the midst of societal collapse. Before turning to writing and music upon retirement, she was a pioneer in the field of sustainable agriculture at Cornell University, fighting against the continuing industrialization of farming and the impoverishment of rural communities. In 2010 she founded the non-profit Groundswell Center for Local Food and Farming, one of the nation’s first farmer training programs to confront the deep racial inequities embedded in our agriculture and food systems.
