A native son of Brooklyn, New York, Mark Zuss is a painter and emeritus professor of Literacy and Media Studies at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. He has conducted numerous writing workshops, including those at SUNY New Paltz and Greenhaven Correctional Facility. He lives astounded at the potentials of the surprising world, of worlds burrowed within words. He currently lives in Lansing and has convened the monthly poetry reading and music series, The Verb Takes a Walk at the Lansing Performance Space since 2022.
